I’ve just returned from Florida for my Mother’s 90-something birthday bash! Being with family is always great, but another reason I love going home is so I can test out what my sisters and nieces are using on their skin. It’s product testing without having to purchase anything!
First up is Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Scrub Cleanser
My skin is delicate and extremely fussy. Anything harsh can put my rosacea into a tailspin that can last for weeks. However, having a thick coat of sunblock on my face for 12+ hours everyday left me wanting something with oomph to cleanse it off. Being hesitant at first, I quickly came to love this scrub. It was gentle enough to use once a day and is reasonably priced at ~$10.
Unfortunately, the Micro-Sculpting Scrub has a lot of chemicals in it that I don’t want to use everyday (antibacterial and antifungal). So, while it was a good enough product to use for a week, I’m just not sure I’d want to use it any longer than that.
I used this after my shower the first night thinking it would be gooey for a while. Surprisingly, it absorbed right away and left my skin feeling smooth and soft. After 5 days I noticed my skin was looking better and not as wrinkled above the knees and inside the elbows. Another bonus was that it cost less than $5.
Checking out the ingredients on Suave’s website, I was again unimpressed with the ingredients. However, I thought Suave did a great job with their ‘smartlabel‘ site that explained what each ingredient was – so kudos for that.
So there you have it – 2 products that are affordable and did what they promised. My skin did feel cleaner/smoother with Olay’s Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Scrub Cleanser and Suave’s Essentials Body Lotion certainly smoothed out areas of wrinkled skin on my arms and legs.

(Happy birthday Mom!)
Until next time….
