Is The Sun Wrecking Your Botox?

If you’re a fan of neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport and Xeomin) then you’ve heard all the ‘dos and don’ts’ before –

Avoid laying down for 4 hours after your treatment.

Avoid exercising for the rest of the day.

Avoid massaging the area or laying face down on a massage table for 24 hours.

Avoid laser treatments or excessive heat to the treated area for 24 hours.

Avoid blood thinning products such as alcohol or aspirin for 24 hours.

But did you know that the Sun can shorten the lifespan of your treatment?

While everyone is effected differently, sunshine boosts blood circulation which causes the blood vessels to expand. This could possibly disperse the neuromodulator faster than normal.

Now I’m not talking about normal exposure – you know, from the house to the office sort of thing. More like sitting outside after your treatment and enjoying the warmth of the sun while eating lunch. Either way, I know you’ll be wearing your favorite SPF……right??

Until next time….
