When I opened my email this morning and saw article on ‘Your Complete Beauty Guide For The Solar Eclipse’ in my inbox, I immediately hit delete!
While I think today’s eclipse is going to be amazing, you’re not going to find me packing up and heading to South Carolina to see it. Whatever I can see from my backyard here in the Midwest will be good enough for me.
It’s not that I’m being cynical about the eclipse, it’s just that I’m more of a ‘do it everyday, not every few years’ type of person.
Take the email about the solar eclipse beauty guide for example, I’m suppose to do all these steps just for today and for what? Everyone’s going to be looking up at the sky – not at me!
Instead, why not adopt a routine that you do everyday? You could take it even further by making it about beauty on the inside as well as the outside.
Here’s my version of a ‘Beauty Guide For The Soul And Skin With or Without An Eclipse’ –
Gently wash you face each morning. It’s a great way to start the day.
Apply sunblock every single day. You deserve (and need) protection from the harmful and aging rays of the sun.
Be nice to others. It doesn’t cost you a thing.
Look up. You are missing out on great things that are going on around you. Those texts can wait.
Get 7-9 hours of sleep a night so your body can repair and rejuvenate itself.
Be thankful. There is always someone who has it worse off than you.
Smile. Studies show that it’s contagious!
Until next time….
