I just found the perfect birthday gift – for myself – Neutrogena’s Light Therapy Acne Mask!
Using LED red and blue light, it’s the latest in at-home treatments . The mask is being marketed for acne, but blue and red LED does a whole lot more than just treating zits and inflammation. Used successfully for years by dermatologists, the downside to these in-office treatments is that you need to come in for multiple treatments a week. Who has that kind of time?
Having this technology for home use, even if it isn’t as powerful, you are more likely to use it consistently. This makes the results similar to those at your derm’s office.
And while blue light is effective in killing of p. bacterium (the nasty guys that cause acne), it also helps with depression,Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), fights MRSA, heals periodontal disease and cures newborns of neonatal jaundice.
Red light reduces inflammation, builds collagen, reduces redness, fades scars and stretch marks and stimulates regrowth of hair follicles.
To be fair, Neutrogena’s Light Therapy Acne Mask isn’t the only one of it’s kind. A quick check on Amazon revealed hundreds of LED devices for acne and anti-aging (some looking identical to Neutrogena’s) with prices ranging up to $900! So while they obviously are not unique, I do trust Neutrogena will stand behind their product.
Priced at ~$40, the mask is good for thirty 10 minute sessions. You will then have to purchase another Light Therapy Acne Mask Activator (the power source) for ~$17.
Until next time….
